There is an old saying "it is better to give than receive". But, how often do we give something in order to receive something in return. When trying to understand this jewel in the rough, it is important to know that our motive for doing anything in life affects our attitude towards ourselves as well as others. Our motives in life can have a negative or positive impact. It is "the why" we do things in conjunction with our actions. Whenever we reflect on our motives for doing things, we gain a better understanding of who we are (our character) rather than who we believe we are (our mask).
